Jiangsu Suli Machinery Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. have officially signed a cooperation agreement for the Battery Panel Smart Powder Coating Production Line. This project will not only support Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory but will also extend to key production facilities in the United States, Germany, and beyond. This partnership signifies Suli Machinery’s official integration into Tesla’s global new energy supply chain, establishing it as a key strategic partner in Tesla’s coating systems. Focusing on surface protection of one of the core components of new energy vehicles — the battery panel — the project incorporates advanced technologies such as automated PT lines, electrostatic powder coating systems, high-efficiency curing ovens, and the industrial control system. It aims to achieve goals of eco-friendly coating, energy efficiency, and intelligent traceability, marking a significant achievement in Suli’s high-end positioning within the new energy manufacturing sector. The complete solution integrates powder coating, ED coating, spray cleaning, hot-air drying, automatic loading/unloading, intelligent conveyor, and a full-line PLC+MES control system.
During the formulation of the technical plan, the Suli technical team worked closely with Tesla’s global process experts to analyze process standards, environmental regulations, automation interfaces, and digital management requirements across Tesla’s operations in China, the U.S., and Germany. Focusing on the three core performance criteria of 'high adhesion, corrosion resistance, and zero emissions,' a customized modular smart coating system was developed. The main modules include:
- High-pressure spray and multi-stage PT system (degreasing, pickling, passivation)
- Enclosed powder coating booth with automatic recycling and powder reuse
- Energy-efficient hot air circulation curing oven (temperature control accuracy ±1°C)
- Intelligent overhead conveyor system (supporting variable speed and segmented control)
- MES integration with the industrial internet platform for energy monitoring, fault alerts, and full lifecycle traceability
With its extensive experience in ED coating line design, powder coating system integration, smart production line construction, and digital transformation of industrial coating, Suli Machinery has earned recognition across multiple Tesla factories worldwide.
